According to the invention, a process for synthesizing a UV filter having the Formula X is provided, where R is independently selected from linear or branched aliphatic groups having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, the process comprising: (i) Esterifying p-nitrobenzoic acid by reacting it with a linear or branched-chain alcohol having from 1 to 20, preferably from 4 to 10, carbon atoms; (ii) Reducing the p-nitrobenzoic acid ester from (i) in an aprotic organic solvent to produce a p-aminobenzoic acid ester; (iii) Reacting the p-aminobenzoic acid ester from (ii) with a less than stoichiometric amount of cyanuric halide to produce a compound according to Formula X.

L'invention concerne un procédé de synthèse d'un filtre UV ayant la formule X, dans laquelle R est indépendamment choisi parmi des groupes aliphatiques linéaires ou ramifiés ayant de 1 à 20 atomes de carbone, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : (i) réaliser une estérification de l'acide p-nitrobenzoïque par réaction avec un alcool à chaîne linéaire ou ramifiée ayant de 1 à 20, de préférence de 4 à 10 atomes de carbone ; (ii) réaliser une réduction de l'ester d'acide p-nitrobenzoïque (i) dans un solvant organique aprotique pour produire un ester d'acide p-aminobenzoïque ; (iii) faire réagir l'ester d'acide p-aminobenzoïque de (ii) avec une quantité inférieure à la quantité stoechiométrique d'halogénure cyanurique pour produire un composé de formule X.
