Abstract

Lenticular lens (1) comprising an array of elongate lenticular elements (2) extending parallel to one another, the array comprising a first edge(3a) and a second edge (3b) extending parallel to the elongate lenticular elements (2); and a central line (4) that is centered between the first edge (3a) and the second edge (3b); characterized in that the focal length of the lenticular elements (2) gradually decreases from the first edge (3a) of the array towards the central line (4) as well as from the second edge (3b) of the array towards the central line (4). This improves the angular performance of the lenticular lens so that at short viewing distances the image quality near the edges of the display is not impaired.

L'invention concerne une lentille lenticulaire (1) comprenant un réseau d'éléments lenticulaires allongés (2) qui s'étendent parallèlement les uns aux autres, le réseau comprenant un premier bord (3a) et un deuxième bord (3b) s'étendant parallèlement aux éléments lenticulaires allongés (2) ; et une ligne centrale (4) qui est centrée entre le premier bord (3a) et le deuxième bord (3b). L'invention est caractérisée en ce que la distance focale des éléments lenticulaires (2) diminue progressivement depuis le premier bord (3a) du réseau vers la ligne centrale (4) ainsi que depuis le deuxième bord (3b) du réseau vers la ligne centrale (4). Ceci améliore la performance angulaire de la lentille lenticulaire, de sorte qu'à des distances de visualisation courtes, la qualité d'image à proximité des bords de l'affichage n'est pas altérée.
