Abstract

Methods of using particle size amplification to facilitate size-based particle separation and concentration. At least one of the methods includes introducing a plurality of binding moieties into a fluid sample; allowing at least one of the binding moieties to bind two or more biological particles to form a particle cluster, in which the particle cluster comprises a first type of biological particle bound to a second different type of biological particle; and flowing the fluid sample comprising the particle cluster into a particle sorting region of a microfluidic device.

L'invention concerne des procédés d'utilisation d'une amplification fondée sur la taille de particules pour faciliter la séparation et la concentration de particules sur la base de la taille. Au moins l'un des procédés comprend les étapes consistant à introduire une pluralité de fractions de liaison dans un échantillon de fluide ; utiliser au moins l'une des fractions de liaison pour lier au moins deux particules biologiques pour former un groupe de particules, le groupe de particules comprenant un premier type de particule biologique liée à un second type différent de particule biologique ; et faire circuler l'échantillon de fluide comprenant le groupe de particules dans une région de tri de particules d'un dispositif microfluidique.
