Abstract

Various embodiments of a predictive fall event management system and a method of using such system are disclosed. The system includes a body-worn device and a controller operatively connected to the body-worn device. The controller is adapted to receive physiological data representative of a physiological characteristic of a wearer of the body-worn device over a monitoring time period; receive contextual data representative of context information of the wearer over the monitoring time period; and determine one or more future physiological states or contextual states based at least in part on one or more of the physiological data and the contextual data. The controller is further adapted to determine, for a future time, whether a fall condition is satisfied based upon the one or more future physiological states or contextual states and generate a fall prevention output responsive to satisfaction of the fall condition.

La présente invention concerne, selon divers modes de réalisation, un système de gestion prédictive d'événement de chute et un procédé d'utilisation dudit système. Le système comprend un dispositif porté sur le corps et un dispositif de commande connecté de manière fonctionnelle au dispositif porté sur le corps. Le dispositif de commande est conçu pour recevoir des données physiologiques représentant une caractéristique physiologique d'un porteur du dispositif porté sur le corps sur une période de temps de surveillance ; pour recevoir des données contextuelles représentant des informations de contexte du porteur sur la période de temps de surveillance ; et pour déterminer un ou plusieurs états physiologiques ou états contextuels futurs sur la base, au moins en partie, d'un ensemble ou de plusieurs ensembles de données physiologiques ou de données contextuelles. Le dispositif de commande est en outre conçu pour déterminer, pendant un temps futur, si une condition de chute est satisfaite sur la base de l'état ou des états physiologiques ou de l'état ou des états contextuels futurs et pour générer une sortie de prévention de chute en réponse à la satisfaction de la condition de chute.
