Abstract

Methods for detecting tubing in a pump assembly of a pump system are provided. For example, a method comprises connecting a power supply to each of a plurality of pump motors of the pump system. Each pump motor of the plurality of pump motors has a power supply cable configured to connect to the power supply and drives a pump head of a plurality of pump heads of the pump system. The method also comprises sensing a motor current from each of the power supply cables, determining whether tubing is loaded in each pump head, and, if tubing is not loaded in a pump head, then disconnecting from the power supply the power supply cable of the pump motor associated with the pump head in which tubing is not loaded. Systems for detecting the presence of tubing within a pump head of a plurality of pump heads also are provided.

La présente invention concerne des procédés de détection de tubes dans un ensemble pompe d'un système de pompe. Par exemple, un procédé comprend une étape consistant à connecter une alimentation électrique à chacun d'une pluralité de moteurs de pompe du système de pompe. Chaque moteur de pompe de la pluralité de moteurs de pompe possède un câble d'alimentation électrique conçu pour se connecter à l'alimentation électrique et entraîne une tête de pompe d'une pluralité de têtes de pompe du système de pompe. Le procédé comprend également des étapes consistant à détecter un courant de moteur à partir de chacun des câbles d'alimentation électrique, à déterminer si des tubes sont chargés dans chaque tête de pompe, et, si des tubes ne sont pas chargés dans une tête de pompe, à déconnecter ensuite l'alimentation électrique du câble d'alimentation électrique du moteur de pompe associé à la tête de pompe dans laquelle les tubes ne sont pas chargés. L'invention concerne également des systèmes de détection de la présence de tubes à l'intérieur d'une tête de pompe d'une pluralité de têtes de pompe.
