A method dynamically stabilizes a vehicle having a suspension system including pneumatic air springs, with one air spring being associated with each wheel, each air spring being independently adjustable in height; an air spring valve associated with each air spring; and a reservoir containing a source of air. The method obtains data relating to at least lateral acceleration, yaw rate, roll rate, velocity and the steering wheel angle deviation of the vehicle. Thresholds are established, and the data is compared to the thresholds. If thresholds are exceeded, at least one air spring valve is automatically opened to increase air pressure in the associated air spring by receiving air from the reservoir, or to decrease air pressure in the associated air spring by returning air to the reservoir, so as to adjust a height of the associated air spring to help transfer the weight of the vehicle.

L'invention concerne un procédé qui stabilise dynamiquement un véhicule ayant un système de suspension comprenant des ressorts pneumatiques, un ressort pneumatique étant associé à chaque roue, chaque ressort pneumatique étant indépendamment réglable en hauteur ; une soupape à ressort pneumatique associée à chaque ressort pneumatique ; et un réservoir contenant une source d'air. Le procédé obtient des données concernant au moins l'accélération latérale, le taux de lacet, le taux de roulis, la vitesse et l'écart d'angle de volant de direction du véhicule. Des seuils sont établis et les données sont comparées aux seuils. Si des seuils sont dépassés, au moins une soupape à ressort pneumatique est automatiquement ouverte pour augmenter la pression d'air dans le ressort pneumatique associé en recevant de l'air provenant du réservoir ou pour diminuer la pression d'air dans le ressort pneumatique associé en renvoyant l'air au réservoir, de manière à régler une hauteur du ressort pneumatique associé pour aider à transférer le poids du véhicule.
