Abstract

A seal including a first metal component; a second metal component couplable with the first metal component; and a shape memory alloy having a first state and a second state, the first state and the second state being different in at least one dimension, wherein in response to an external stimulus, the shape memory alloy transitions in one or more dimension from the first state to the second state thereby forming at least one metal-to-metal seal.

L'invention concerne un joint comprenant un premier composant métallique ; un second composant métallique pouvant être couplé au premier composant métallique ; et un alliage à mémoire de forme ayant un premier état et un second état, le premier état et le second état étant différents dans au moins une dimension, en réponse à un stimulus externe, l'alliage à mémoire de forme passant dans une ou plusieurs dimensions du premier état au second état, formant ainsi au moins un joint métal sur métal.
