Provided is a production method for modified vinyl alcohol polymer particles, wherein a mixed medium containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid, an acid catalyst, and water is mixed with vinyl alcohol polymer particles. In this production method, the mixed medium is mixed with the vinyl alcohol polymer particles to react the unsaturated carboxylic acid with the vinyl alcohol polymer particles, and thereby obtain modified vinyl alcohol polymer particles in which a vinyl ester unit represented by formula (2) is contained, the content of a vinyl alcohol unit with respect to all structural units is 60 mol% or more and less than 95 mol%, and the average particle size is 50-2000 μm. This production method is capable of controlling the particle shape, does not have the problem of residual sulfur content, and is also simple and economical.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production permettant d'obtenir des particules de polymère d'alcool vinylique modifiées, dans lequel un milieu d'un mélange contenant de l'acide carboxylique insaturé, un catalyseur acide et de l'eau est mélangé avec des particules de polymère d'alcool vinylique. Dans ce procédé de production, le milieu de mélange est mélangé avec les particules de polymère d'alcool vinylique pour faire réagir l'acide carboxylique insaturé avec les particules de polymère d'alcool vinylique, et ainsi obtenir des particules de polymère d'alcool vinylique modifiées qui comprennent une unité ester vinylique représentée par la formule (2), le contenu en unité alcool vinylique par rapport à toutes les unités structurales étant supérieur ou égal à 60 % en moles et inférieur à 95 % en moles, et la taille moyenne des particules étant comprise entre 50 et 2 000 µm. Ce procédé de production permet de contrôler la forme des particules, ne présente pas le problème de contenir du soufre résiduel, et est également simple et économique.

不飽和カルボン酸、酸触媒及び水を含む混合媒体と、ビニルアルコール系重合体粒子とを混合する変性ビニルアルコール系重合体粒子の製造方法であって、前記混合媒体と前記ビニルアルコール系重合体粒子とを混合して、前記不飽和カルボン酸と前記ビニルアルコール系重合体粒子とを反応させることにより、下記式(2)で示されるビニルエステル単位を含み、全構成単位に対するビニルアルコール単位の含有量が60モル%以上95モル%未満であり、平均粒子径が50~2000μmである変性ビニルアルコール系重合体粒子を得る、製造方法である。当該製造方法は、粒子形状の制御が可能であり、硫黄分の残留の問題もないうえに、簡便であり経済的にも優れる。
