Provided are: steel that is ideal for hydrogen accumulators, hydrogen line pipe, etc. and has excellent hydrogen embrittlement resistance characteristics in high pressure hydrogen gas environments; and a method for producing the same. The steel for high pressure hydrogen gas environments has a prescribed component composition, a tensile strength of at least 560 mPa, and a fracture toughness value KIH in a high pressure hydrogen gas atmosphere of at least 40 MPa・m1/2.

L'invention concerne : un acier qui est idéal pour des accumulateurs d'hydrogène, un tuyau de conduite d'hydrogène, etc. et qui présente d'excellentes caractéristiques de résistance à la fragilisation par l'hydrogène dans des environnements à hydrogène gazeux à haute pression ; et son procédé de production. L'acier pour environnements à hydrogène gazeux à haute pression a une composition prédéfinie de constituants, une résistance à la traction d'au moins 560 mPa et une valeur de ténacité à la rupture KIH dans une atmosphère à hydrogène gazeux à haute pression d'au moins 40 MPa・m1/2.
