Provided are: a composition that is useful for producing a luminescent element in which initial degradation is suppressed; and a luminescent element formed using the composition. This composition for a luminescent element contains a host material and a guest material. The host material contains an aromatic compound having a fused ring skeleton in which three or more benzene rings only are condensed. The guest material contains a compound having a heterocyclic group containing, in the ring, a carbon atom and at least one type of atom selected from the group consisting of a boron atom, a nitrogen atom, a phosphorus atom, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom and a selenium atom. The total amount of silicon atoms contained in the host material and silicon atoms contained in the guest material is more than 0 ppm by mass and not more than 28 ppm by mass relative to the total amount of the host material and the guest material.

L'invention concerne: une composition qui est utile pour produire un élément luminescent dans lequel une dégradation initiale est supprimée; et un élément luminescent formé à l'aide de la composition. Cette composition pour élément luminescent contient un matériau hôte et un matériau invité. Le matériau hôte contient un composé aromatique ayant un squelette de cycle fusionné dans lequel uniquement trois cycles benzène ou plus sont condensés. Le matériau invité contient un composé ayant un groupe hétérocyclique contenant, dans l'anneau, un atome de carbone et au moins un type d'atome choisi dans le groupe constitué par un atome de bore, un atome d'azote, un atome de phosphore, un atome d'oxygène, un atome de soufre et un atome de sélénium. La quantité totale d'atomes de silicium contenus dans le matériau hôte et les atomes de silicium contenus dans le matériau hôte est supérieure à 0 ppm en masse et inférieure ou égale à 28 ppm en masse par rapport à la quantité totale du matériau hôte et du matériau invité.
