Provided is a positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the positive electrode active material comprising a Ni-containing lithium composite oxide a, b, wherein the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide a has an average primary particle size of 1 μm or more which is larger than the average primary particle size of the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide b, the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide a has an average secondary particle size of 2 to 6 μm, the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide b has an average primary particle size of 0.05 μm or more and an average secondary particle size of 10 to 20 μm, the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide a contains Mn and at least one of B and Al, the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide b contains Mn, and the ratio of the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide a to the Ni-containing lithium composite oxide b is, in mass ratio, 5:95 to 55:45. A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has high capacity, good cycle characteristics, and high-rate discharge characteristics can be provided using this positive electrode active material.

L'invention concerne un matériau actif d'électrode positive pour une batterie secondaire à électrolyte non aqueux, le matériau actif d'électrode positive comprenant un oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni a, b, l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni a ayant une taille de particule primaire moyenne supérieure ou égale à 1 µm qui est plus grande que la taille de particule primaire moyenne de l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni b, l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni a ayant une taille de particule secondaire moyenne de 2 à 6 µm, l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni b a une taille de particule primaire moyenne supérieure ou égale à 0,05 µm et une taille de particule secondaire moyenne de 10 À 20 µm, l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni a contient Mn et B et/ou Al, l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant du Ni b contient Mn, et le rapport de l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant Ni a, à l'oxyde composite de lithium contenant Ni b est, en rapport de masse, 5 : 95 à 55 : 45. Une batterie secondaire à électrolyte non aqueux qui a une capacité élevée, de bonnes caractéristiques de cycle et des caractéristiques de décharge à haut débit peut être fournie à l'aide de ce matériau actif d'électrode positive.

非水電解質二次電池の正極活物質として、Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物a,bを含む正極活物質であって、前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物aの平均一次粒子径は、1μm以上であり、前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物bの平均一次粒子径よりも大きく、前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物aの平均二次粒子径は、2μm~6μmであり、Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物bは、平均一次粒子径が0.05μm以上、平均二次粒子径が10μm~20μmであり、前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物aは、Mnを含み、且つB及びAlのうちの少なくともいずれか一方を含み、前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物bは、Mnを含み、前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物aと前記Ni含有リチウム複合酸化物bとの割合が、質量比で、5:95~55:45を用いる。この正極活物質を用いることで、高容量で良好なサイクル特性及び高率放電特性である非水電解質二次電池を提供できる。
