Abstract

The present invention relates to a system and to a method for the recognition and measurement of geometric shapes. In particular, the purpose of the described invention is to recognize, in a rapid and efficient manner, geometric shapes such as rectangles or parallelograms present in a photograph, or another digital acquisition of an image, and to return their dimensions and position. The described method can be used to measure opening, for example doors or windows, present on a facade of a building and being part of images framed and acquired with a smartphone or similar devices. The method of the present description is also able to provide an instrument for processing the images acquired through the addition of digital graphic elements consistent with the processed image in terms of dimensions and perspective.

La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé de reconnaissance et de mesure de formes géométriques. Plus particulièrement, le but de la présente invention est de reconnaître, de manière rapide et efficace, des formes géométriques telles que des rectangles ou des parallélogrammes présents dans une photographie, ou une autre acquisition numérique d'une image, et de renvoyer leurs dimensions et leur position. Le procédé décrit peut être utilisé pour mesurer l'ouverture, par exemple des portes ou des fenêtres, présentes sur une façade d'un bâtiment et faisant partie d'images encadrées et acquises avec un téléphone intelligent ou des dispositifs similaires. Le procédé de la présente description est également apte à fournir un instrument pour traiter les images acquises par l'ajout d'éléments graphiques numériques cohérents avec l'image traitée en termes de dimensions et de perspective.
