The invention concerns a method for manufacturing a metal ring (41) for a ring set of a drive belt for a continuously variable transmission, wherein the metal rings (41) are individually extended in their circumference direction, while their thickness is being reduced, in a rolling process step. After rolling, the metal rings (41) are processed further and a number of thus processed metal rings (41) are mutually nested to form the ring set. According to the invention, after the said number of metal rings (41) have been rolled, but before these are nested to form the ring set, some of the metal rings (41; 41b) are either turned inside out or are rotated about their radial direction for a half rotation in a novel, additional process step (APS) and some of the metal rings (41; 41a) are not.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un anneau métallique (41) destiné à un ensemble annulaire d'une courroie d'entraînement pour une transmission à variation continue, les anneaux métalliques (41) étant étendus individuellement dans leur direction circonférentielle, tandis que leur épaisseur est réduite, lors d'une étape de traitement par laminage. Après laminage, les anneaux métalliques (41) sont en outre traités et un nombre d’anneaux métalliques (41) ainsi traités sont imbriqué entre eux pour former l'ensemble annulaire. Selon l'invention, après laminage dudit nombre d’anneaux métalliques (41), mais avant que ceux-ci soient imbriqués pour former l'ensemble annulaire, certains des anneaux métalliques (41 ; 41b) sont soit retournés, soit tournés autour de leur direction radiale d'une demi-rotation lors d'une nouvelle étape de traitement supplémentaire (APS) et certains des anneaux métalliques (41 ; 41a) ne le sont pas.
