The present disclosure is concerned with a method of forming a seal with a polyethylene based film structure. The polyethylene based film structure has at least one layer formed with an oriented polyethylene having a predetermined melting temperature (Tm). A conductive heat sealing device provides heat to form the seal, where a first sealing bar of the conductive heat sealing device operates at a first operating temperature of at least 10 degrees Celsius (°C) below the Tm of the oriented polyethylene in the polyethylene based film structure and a second sealing bar of the conductive heat sealing device operates at a second operating temperature of at least 15 °C higher than the operating temperature of the first sealing bar. The seal formed with the polyethylene based film structure retains at least 99 percent of its original surface area prior to forming the seal.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de formation d'un joint d'étanchéité ayant une structure de film à base de polyéthylène. La structure de film à base de polyéthylène possède au moins une couche formée avec un polyéthylène orienté dont la température de fusion est prédéterminée (Tm). Un dispositif de scellage à chaud conducteur fournit de la chaleur en vue de former le joint d'étanchéité, une première barre d'étanchéité du dispositif de scellage à chaud conducteur fonctionnant à une première température de fonctionnement d'au moins 10 degrés Celsius (°C) au-dessous de la température Tm du polyéthylène orienté dans la structure de film à base de polyéthylène, et une seconde barre d'étanchéité du dispositif de scellage à chaud conducteur fonctionnant à une seconde température de fonctionnement d'au moins 15 °C supérieure à la température de fonctionnement de la première barre d'étanchéité. Le joint d'étanchéité formé avec la structure de film à base de polyéthylène conserve au moins 99 pour cent de sa surface d'origine avant la formation du joint d'étanchéité.
