A pacemaker is configured to operate in an atrial synchronous ventricular pacing mode and, after expiration of a conduction check time interval, switch to an asynchronous ventricular pacing mode that includes setting a ventricular pacing interval to a base pacing rate interval. The pacemaker is further configured to determine when atrioventricular block detection criteria are satisfied during the asynchronous ventricular pacing mode and, responsive to the atrioventricular block detection criteria being satisfied, switch back to the atrial synchronous ventricular pacing mode.

La présente invention concerne un stimulateur cardiaque conçu pour fonctionner dans un mode de stimulation ventriculaire synchrone auriculaire et, après expiration d'un intervalle de temps de vérification de la conduction, commuter vers un mode de stimulation ventriculaire asynchrone qui comprend le réglage d'un intervalle de stimulation ventriculaire sur un intervalle de fréquence de stimulation de base. Le stimulateur cardiaque est en outre conçu pour déterminer quand des critères de détection de bloc auriculo-ventriculaire sont satisfaits pendant le mode de stimulation ventriculaire asynchrone et, en réponse à la satisfaction des critères de détection de bloc auriculo-ventriculaire, revenir au mode de stimulation ventriculaire synchrone auriculaire.
