A method of signaling an intra prediction mode used to encode a current block in an encoded video bitstream using at least one processor includes generating a first most probable mode (MPM) list corresponding to a zero reference line of the current block, wherein the first MPM list includes a plurality of angular intra prediction modes; generating a second MPM list corresponding to one or more non-zero reference lines of the current block, wherein the second MPM list includes the plurality of angular intra prediction modes; signaling a reference line index indicating a reference line used to encode the current block from among the zero reference line and the one or more non-zero reference lines; and signaling an intra mode index indicating the intra prediction mode within the first MPM list or the second MPM list.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de signalisation d'un mode de prédiction intra utilisé pour coder un bloc actuel dans un train de bits vidéo codé au moyen d'un processeur qui consiste à générer une première liste de modes les plus probables (MPM) correspondant à une ligne de référence zéro du bloc actuel, la première liste de MPM comprenant une première pluralité de modes de prédiction intra angulaire; générer une seconde liste de MPM correspondant à une ou plusieurs lignes de référence non zéro du bloc actuel, la seconde liste de MPM comprenant une seconde pluralité de modes de prédiction intra, la seconde pluralité de modes de prédiction intra comprenant un sous-ensemble de la première pluralité de modes de prédiction intra; signaler un indice de ligne de référence indiquant une ligne de référence utilisée pour coder le bloc actuel entre la ligne de référence zéro et la ou les lignes de références non zéro; et signaler un indice de mode de prédiction intra indiquant le mode de prédiction intra dans la première liste de MPM ou la seconde liste de MPM.
