Abstract

An exhaust gas heat recovery system includes a housing assembly, a valve assembly and a heat exchanger. The valve assembly is disposed within the housing assembly and includes a shaft and a plate. The plate is rotatable between a first position whereat exhaust gas flow through a first fluid passageway is allowed and exhaust gas flow through a second exhaust gas passageway is prevented, and a second position whereat exhaust gas flow through the second fluid passageway is allowed and exhaust gas flow through the first gas passageway is prevented. The heat exchanger assembly includes a heater core having a working fluid circulating therein. The working fluid is in thermal communication with fluid in the heater core. The housing assembly includes first and second shells attached to each other at a joint. An axis of the shaft being at the joint of the first and second shells.

L'invention a trait à un système de récupération de la chaleur de gaz d'échappement comprenant un ensemble boîtier, un ensemble soupape et un échangeur de chaleur. L'ensemble soupape est disposé à l'intérieur de l'ensemble boîtier et comprend un arbre et une plaque. La plaque peut tourner entre une première position dans laquelle un flux de gaz d'échappement à travers un premier passage de fluide est permis et un flux de gaz d'échappement à travers un second passage de gaz d'échappement est empêché, et une seconde position dans laquelle le flux de gaz d'échappement à travers le second passage de fluide est permis et le flux de gaz d'échappement à travers le premier passage de gaz est empêché. L'ensemble échangeur de chaleur comprend un radiateur de chauffage dans lequel circule un fluide de travail. Le fluide de travail est en communication thermique avec le fluide dans le radiateur de chauffage. L'ensemble boîtier comprend des première et seconde coques attachées l'une à l'autre au niveau d'une articulation. Un axe de l'arbre se trouvant au niveau de l'articulation des première et seconde coques.
