Abstract

The invention relates to radiation-treated reinforcement fibers, reinforced asphalt and portland cement concrete, and grout, methods for producing the same and application for their use. The radiation treatment includes exposing reinforcement fibers to electromagnetic energy, e.g., gamma rays, and/or electron-beam (E-beam) radiation. As a result of the treatment, the radiation-treated reinforcement fibers have a modified or deformed surface, e.g., an abraded and/or porous surface, as compared to reinforcement fibers without a radiation treatment.

L'invention concerne des fibres de renforcement traitées par rayonnement, de l'asphalte renforcé et du béton de ciment portland, et du coulis, leurs procédés de production et leur application. Le traitement par rayonnement comprend l'exposition des fibres de renforcement à une énergie électromagnétique, par exemple des rayons gamma, et/ou à un rayonnement de faisceau d'électrons (faisceau électronique). En conséquence du traitement, les fibres de renforcement traitées par rayonnement présentent une surface modifiée ou déformée, par exemple une surface abrasée et/ou poreuse, par comparaison avec des fibres de renforcement sans traitement par rayonnement.
