Abstract

The present disclosure provides a method for purifying trifluoroiodomethane. The method includes providing a process stream comprising trifluoroiodomethane, organic impurities, and acid impurities; reacting the process stream with a basic aqueous solution, the basic aqueous solution comprising water and at least one base selected from the group of an alkali metal carbonate and an alkali metal hydroxide; and separating at least some of the organic impurities from the process stream.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de purification de trifluoroiodométhane. Le procédé consiste à fournir un flux de traitement comprenant du trifluoroiodométhane, des impuretés organiques et des impuretés acides ; faire réagir le flux de traitement avec une solution aqueuse basique, la solution aqueuse basique comprenant de l'eau et au moins une base choisie dans le groupe constitué par un carbonate de métal alcalin et un hydroxyde de métal alcalin ; et séparer au moins une partie des impuretés organiques du flux de traitement.
