Various methods, devices, and systems for determining the concentration of infectious agent in a target sample are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method for determining the concentration of an infectious agent of an unknown strain can include diluting aliquots of a target sample comprising the infectious agent by different dilution factors to yield diluted samples. The method can also include determining the time it takes a solution characteristic of each of the diluted samples to undertake a predetermined threshold change. The method can also include determining the concentration of the infectious agent of the unknown strain by taking into account the different dilution factors, the monitored times, and certain curve fitting parameters calculated from predetermined calibration curves generated for infectious agents of different known strains.

Divers procédés, dispositifs, et systèmes de détermination de la concentration d'agent infectieux dans un échantillon cible sont décrits dans la description. Dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé de détermination de la concentration d'un agent infectieux d'une souche inconnue peut comprendre la dilution d'aliquotes d'un échantillon cible comprenant l'agent infectieux par différents facteurs de dilution pour produire des échantillons dilués. Le procédé peut également comprendre la détermination du temps qu'il prend une caractéristique de solution de chacun des échantillons dilués pour entreprendre un changement de seuil prédéterminé. Le procédé peut également comprendre la détermination de la concentration de l'agent infectieux de la souche inconnue en prenant en compte les différents facteurs de dilution, les temps surveillés, et certains paramètres d'ajustement de courbe calculés à partir de courbes d'étalonnage prédéterminées générées pour des agents infectieux de différentes souches connues.
