Abstract

Methods and systems for generating an interpolated reshaping function for the efficient coding of high-dynamic range images are provided. The interpolated reshaping function is constructed based on a set of pre-computed basis reshaping functions. Interpolation schemes are derived for pre-computed basis reshaping functions represented as look-up tables, multi-segment polynomials, or matrices of coefficients in a multivariate, multi-regression representation. Encoders and decoders using asymmetric reshaping and interpolated reshaping functions for mobile applications are also presented.

L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes permettant de générer une fonction de remodelage interpolée pour le codage efficace d'images à plage dynamique élevée. La fonction de remodelage interpolée est construite sur la base d'un ensemble de fonctions de remodelage de base pré-calculées. Des schémas d'interpolation sont dérivés pour des fonctions de remodelage de base pré-calculées représentées sous la forme de tables de consultation, de polynômes à segments multiples ou de matrices de coefficients dans une représentation à plusieurs variables et à régression multiple. L'invention concerne également des codeurs et des décodeurs utilisant des fonctions de remodelage asymétrique et de remodelage interpolé pour des applications mobiles.
