A sensing apparatus measures the disk tilt angle of a swing or tilting disk check valve without requiring penetration of the valve housing through a rotating shaft seal. A hinge pin extension is rotationally coupled to the valve disk, and a mechanical converter converts rotation thereof into translation of a magnet carrier within a non-magnetic extension of the valve housing. An LVDT core magnet is translated by the magnet carrier within the housing extension while surrounded by LVDT sensor coils mounted to the exterior of the housing extension. The LVDT core magnet and sensor coils thereby provide an LVDT output signal that indicates the tip angle of the valve disk. Embodiments include threaded coupling of the hinge pin extension to the magnet carrier, or coupling therebetween by a converter pin fixed to one of them into angled helical slot of a cylinder fixed to the other of them.

L'invention concerne un appareil de détection qui mesure l'angle d'inclinaison de disque d'un clapet de retenue de disque pivotant ou oscillant sans nécessiter la pénétration du boîtier de clapet à travers un joint d'arbre rotatif. Une extension de broche de charnière est couplée en rotation au disque de clapet et un convertisseur mécanique convertit la rotation de celui-ci en translation d'un support d'aimant à l'intérieur d'une extension non magnétique du boîtier de clapet. Un aimant de noyau LVDT est translaté par le support d'aimant à l'intérieur de l'extension de boîtier tout en étant entouré par des bobines de capteur LVDT montées sur l'extérieur de l'extension de boîtier. L'aimant central LVDT et les bobines de capteur fournissent ainsi un signal de sortie LVDT qui indique l'angle de pointe du disque de clapet. Des modes de réalisation comprennent un couplage fileté de l'extension de broche de charnière au support d'aimant ou un couplage entre ceux-ci par une broche de convertisseur fixée à l'un d'eux dans une fente hélicoïdale inclinée d'un cylindre fixé à l'autre d'entre eux.
