Described herein is a process for correcting an observed color difference between a color at a first gloss and the color at a second gloss different than the first gloss, said process comprising the steps of: (a) determining a first correction caused by a lightness (Y-value) of the color a first gloss; (b) determining a second correction caused by an inclusion of a first surface diffusion in gloss readings; (c) based on the first and second corrections, determining a specular correction caused by a difference in specular reflections from the color at the first gloss and the color at the second gloss; (d) determining tristimulus corrections based on the specular correction; (e) preparing corrected tristimulus values of the color at a second gloss; and (f) producing a paint composition for the color at the second gloss using the corrected tristimulus values.

L'invention concerne un procédé de correction d'une différence de couleur observée entre une couleur à un premier brillant et la couleur à un second brillant différent du premier brillant, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : (a) déterminer une première correction provoquée par une clarté (valeur Y) de la couleur d'un premier brillant ; (b) déterminer une seconde correction provoquée par une inclusion d'une première diffusion de surface dans des lectures de brillance ; (c) sur la base des première et seconde corrections, déterminer une correction spéculaire provoquée par une différence de réflexions spéculaires à partir de la couleur au premier brillant et de la couleur au second brillant ; (d) déterminer les corrections trichromatiques sur la base de la correction spéculaire ; (e) préparer des valeurs trichromatiques corrigées de la couleur à un second brillant ; et (f) produire une composition de peinture pour la couleur au second brillant à l'aide des valeurs trichromatiques corrigées.
