An integrated controlled catalytic oxidation process converts low value disulfide oil (DSO) compounds produced as a by-product of a generalized mercaptan oxidation (MEROX) process into oxidized DSO (ODSO) compounds including sulfoxides, sulfones, sulfonates and sulfmates that are completely or partially water soluble and which have utility, e.g., as lubricity additives in diesel fuel and as a solvent in aromatic solvent separation processes.

L’invention concerne un procédé intégré d'oxydation catalytique régulée qui convertit des composés d'huile de disulfure (DSO) de valeur moindre produits en tant que sous-produit d'un procédé d'oxydation de mercaptans généralisée (MEROX) en composés DSO oxydés (ODSO) notamment en sulfoxydes, en sulfones et en sulfonates qui sont totalement ou partiellement hydrosolubles et qui présentent une utilité, par exemple, en tant qu'additifs de lubrification dans du carburant diesel et en tant que solvant dans des procédés de séparation de solvant aromatique.
