Abstract

Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for determining beginning blood volume of a patient during dialysis (e.g., hemodialysis). Ultrafiltration rates are determined at different time stamps during dialysis by obtaining a blood flowrate measurement and hematocrit measurements at input port and output port of a dialyzer connected to the patient. The flowrate and hematocrit measurements are used to determine fluid removed from the patient during dialysis. The ultrafiltration rates and fluid removed from the patient are used to determine the beginning blood volume of the patient.

Des modes de réalisation de l'invention concernent une méthode permettant de déterminer le volume sanguin initial d'un patient pendant une dialyse (par exemple, une hémodialyse). Des taux d'ultrafiltration sont déterminés à différents instants pendant la dialyse par l'obtention d'une mesure de débit sanguin et de mesures d'hématocrites au niveau d'un orifice d'entrée et d'un orifice de sortie d'un dialyseur relié au patient. Les mesures de débit et d'hématocrites sont utilisées pour déterminer la quantité de liquide retiré du patient pendant la dialyse. Les taux d'ultrafiltration et la quantité de liquide retiré du patient sont utilisés pour déterminer le volume sanguin initial du patient.
