The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method and an electronic device for management of network based media processing functions is provided. The method comprises: receiving, from a function repository, a function group description including information on a set of functions connected in a function group; determining a workflow based on the function group description; and applying the set of functions connected in the function group for the workflow.

La présente invention se rapporte à un système de communication de pré-5ème génération (5G) ou de 5G, apte à prendre en charge des débits de données supérieurs à ceux d’un système de communication de 4ème génération (4G), tel qu’un système d’évolution à long terme (LTE). L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif électronique permettant la gestion de fonctions de traitement multimédia en réseau. Le procédé consiste à : recevoir, d'un référentiel de fonctions, une description de groupe de fonctions comprenant des informations sur un ensemble de fonctions connectées dans un groupe de fonctions ; déterminer un flux de travail d’après la description du groupe de fonctions ; et appliquer l'ensemble de fonctions connectées dans le groupe de fonctions pour le flux de travail.
