According to one or more embodiments, an electronic device may include a foldable housing including a first housing structure and a second housing structure foldably connected to the first housing structure, a flexible display disposed in the foldable housing, a display disposed on a first surface of the first housing structure or the second housing structure, the first surface being opposite to a second surface of the foldable housing on which the flexible display structure is disposed, and a processor. The processor may be configured to detect a folding of the foldable housing caused by a user gesture, identify status information of the electronic device in response to detecting the folding of the foldable housing, determine a user's intention for the user gesture, based on both the user gesture and the status information, and perform a particular operation corresponding to the user's intention. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Selon un ou plusieurs modes de réalisation, la présente invention concerne un dispositif électronique qui peut comprendre un boîtier pliable comprenant une première structure de boîtier et une seconde structure de boîtier reliée de façon pliable à la première structure de boîtier, un dispositif d'affichage souple disposé dans le boîtier pliable, un dispositif d'affichage disposé sur une première surface de la première structure de boîtier ou de la seconde structure de boîtier, la première surface étant opposée à une seconde surface du boîtier pliable sur laquelle la structure de dispositif d'affichage souple est disposée, et un processeur. Le processeur peut être configuré pour détecter un pliage du boîtier pliable provoqué par un geste d'utilisateur, identifier des informations d'état du dispositif électronique en réponse à la détection du pliage du boîtier pliable, déterminer l'intention d'un utilisateur pour le geste d'utilisateur, sur la base à la fois du geste d'utilisateur et des informations d'état, et effectuer une opération particulière correspondant à l'intention de l'utilisateur.
