The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a liquid crystal composition which contains a polymerizable compound and which is used for producing a PSA type or PSVA type liquid crystal display element, wherein the speed of polymerization of the polymerizable compound is sufficiently rapid, and an element obtained using the composition has no, or very few, display defects caused by changes in pretilt angle, has a satisfactory pretilt angle and exhibits excellent response performance; and a liquid crystal display element obtained using the liquid crystal composition. Provided are: a liquid crystal composition that contains one or more polymerizable compounds represented by general formula (I-Np); and a liquid crystal display element obtained using these.

La présente invention aborde le problème consistant à fournir : une composition de cristaux liquides qui contient un composé polymérisable et qui est utilisée pour produire un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides de type PSA ou PSVA, la vitesse de polymérisation du composé polymérisable étant suffisamment rapide, et un élément obtenu à l'aide de la composition n'a pas ou a très peu de défauts d'affichage provoqués par des changements d'angle de pré-inclinaison, a un angle de pré-inclinaison satisfaisant et présente d'excellentes performances de réponse ; et un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides obtenu à l'aide de la composition de cristaux liquides. L'invention concerne : une composition de cristaux liquides qui contient un ou plusieurs composés polymérisables représentés par la formule générale (I-Np) ; et un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides obtenu à l'aide de ceux-ci.

本発明が解決しようとする課題は、重合性化合物の重合速度が十分に速く、かつ、それを用いた素子はプレチルト角の変化による表示不良が無いか、あるいは極めて少なく、十分なプレチルト角を有し、応答性能に優れるPSA型又はPSVA型液晶表示素子を製造するための重合性化合物を含む液晶組成物を提供すること、及び、これを用いた液晶表示素子を提供することにある。 一般式(I-Np)で表される重合性化合物を1種又は2種以上含有する液晶組成物を提供し、あわせてこれらを使用した液晶表示素子を提供する。
