Abstract

A generator comprising a series of spaced annular stators sandwiched between a series of rotors, the rotors each being separated by annular collars, the annular collars defining a central cavity; at least one cooling gas source for supplying gas to the central cavity; vents through the annular collars for providing a means of egress for the cooling gas from the central cavity radially outwards over the rotors and the annular stators and the front, rear and side walls of coils embedded in the annular stators.

La présente invention concerne un générateur qui comprend une série de stators annulaires espacés placés entre une série de rotors, les rotors étant chacun séparés par des colliers annulaires, les colliers annulaires définissant une cavité centrale; au moins une source de gaz de refroidissement pour fournir un gaz à la cavité centrale; des évents prévus dans les colliers annulaires pour fournir un moyen de sortie pour le gaz de refroidissement hors de la cavité centrale radialement vers l'extérieur au-dessus des rotors et des parois avant, arrière et latérales de bobines intégrées dans les stators annulaires.
