A method for controlling the flow of exhaust fluid to a turbogenerator, said method comprising the steps of driving a turbogenerator turbine with a flow of exhaust fluid; providing a waste-gate valve within said flow of exhaust fluid, said waste-gate valve able to move between a waste-gate open position and a waste-gate closed position; providing a regulator valve within said flow of exhaust fluid, said regulator valve able to move between a regulator open position and a regulator closed position; monitoring the position of said waste-gate valve between said waste-gate open position and said waste-gate closed position; wherein the method further comprises the steps of measuring a rate of change in the position of said waste-gate valve, and controlling the position of said regulator valve between said regulator open position and said regulator closed position in response to said rate of change in the position of said waste-gate valve. In this way, an improved method for controlling the flow of exhaust fluid to a turbogenerator is provided. Additionally an apparatus for providing the method is described.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de commande de l'écoulement d'un fluide d'échappement vers un turbogénérateur, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à entraîner une turbine de turbogénérateur avec un écoulement de fluide d'échappement ; à fournir une soupape de décharge à l'intérieur dudit écoulement de fluide d'échappement, ladite soupape de décharge pouvant se déplacer entre une position ouverte de décharge et une position fermée de décharge ; à fournir une soupape de régulateur à l'intérieur dudit écoulement de fluide d'échappement, ladite soupape de régulateur étant apte à se déplacer entre une position ouverte de régulateur et une position fermée de régulateur ; à surveiller la position de ladite soupape de décharge entre ladite position ouverte de décharge et ladite position fermée de décharge ; ledit procédé comprenant en outre les étapes consistant à mesurer une vitesse de changement dans la position de ladite soupape de décharge et à commander la position de ladite soupape de régulateur entre ladite position ouverte de régulateur et ladite position fermée de régulateur en réponse à ladite vitesse de changement dans la position de ladite soupape de décharge. Ainsi, la présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré de commande de l'écoulement d'un fluide d'échappement vers un turbogénérateur. La présente invention concerne en outre un appareil permettant de mettre en œuvre le procédé.
