The invention relates to an electronic dimmer (1) for driving a low-voltage power supply circuit of a load (3), said dimmer comprising at least one transistor-based switch (9) and a control device driving said at least one transistor-based switch (9), said electronic dimmer comprising two pins for connecting in series the electronic dimmer (1) on the power supply circuit of the load (3), the electronic dimmer further comprising a protection device comprising a crowbar circuit (17) connected in parallel of said transistor-based switch (9) and/or between the two pins of the electronic dimmer.

Variateur électronique (1) destiné à piloter un circuit d'alimentation électrique basse tension d'une charge (3), ledit variateur comprenant au moins un interrupteur (9) à base de transistor et un dispositif de commande pilotant ledit au moins un interrupteur (9) à base de transistor, ledit variateur électronique comprenant deux broches destinées à connecter en série le variateur électronique (1) sur le circuit d'alimentation de la charge (3), le variateur électronique comprenant en outre un dispositif de protection comprenant un circuit crowbar (17) connecté en parallèle dudit interrupteur (9) à base de transistor et/ou entre les deux broches du variateur électronique.
