Integrated multilayer structure (100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 700), comprising a substrate film (102) having a first side and an opposing second side; electronics comprising at least one light source (110), optionally a LED, provided upon the first side of the substrate film and a number of electrical conductors (112), preferably printed by printed electronics technology, at least electrically coupled to the at least one light source (110), the at least one light source (110) being configured to emit light in selected one or more frequencies or wavelengths, optionally including visible light; an optically transmissive element (104) comprising thermoplastic optically transmissive, having regard to the selected frequencies or wavelengths, material having a first refractive index and produced, preferably through utilization of molding from said optically transmissive thermoplastic material, onto the first side of the substrate film (102) so as to at least partially embed the at least one light source (110) therewithin; and optical cladding (106, 106a, 106b) comprising material having a lower refractive index than the first refractive index and provided adjacent the optically transmissive element upon the first side of the substrate film (102), wherein the at least one light source, the optically transmissive element and the optical cladding have been mutually configured (702, 704) so as to convey light emitted by the light source (110) within the optically transmissive material of the optically transmissive element, at least portion of the conveyed light undergoing a substantially total internal reflection when incident upon the optical cladding. L'invention concerne une structure multicouche intégrée (100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 700), comprenant un film de substrat (102) ayant un premier côté et un second côté opposé ; des composants électroniques comprenant au moins une source de lumière (110), éventuellement une DEL, disposée sur le premier côté du film de substrat et un certain nombre de conducteurs électriques (112), de préférence imprimés par une technologie électronique imprimée, au moins électriquement couplés à la ou aux sources de lumière (110), la ou les sources de lumière (110) étant configurées pour émettre de la lumière dans une ou plusieurs fréquences ou longueurs d'ondes sélectionnées, comprenant éventuellement de la lumière visible ; un élément optiquement transmissif (104) comprenant du thermoplastique optiquement transmissif, en ce qui concerne les fréquences ou longueurs d'onde sélectionnées, un matériau ayant un premier indice de réfraction et produit, de préférence par utilisation d'un moulage à partir dudit matériau thermoplastique optiquement transmissif, sur le premier côté du film de substrat (102) de manière à intégrer au moins partiellement la ou les sources de lumière (110) à l'intérieur du film de substrat (102) ; et une gaine optique (106, 106a, 106b) comprenant un matériau ayant un indice de réfraction inférieur au premier indice de réfraction et disposé de façon adjacente à l'élément optiquement transmissif sur le premier côté du film de substrat (102), la ou les sources de lumière, l'élément optiquement transmissif et la gaine optique ayant été configurés mutuellement (702, 704) de façon à transporter la lumière émise par la source de lumière (110) à l'intérieur du matériau optiquement transmissif de l'élément optiquement transmissif, au moins une partie de la lumière transportée subissant une réflexion interne sensiblement totale lorsqu'elle est incidente sur la gaine optique. La présente invention concerne en outre un procédé de fabrication associé.
