Vorliegend wird eine Vorrichtung (105) zur Entladung eines Zwischenkreiskondensators (140) vorgestellt, wobei die Vorrichtung (105) eine Entladungseinheit (145) zum Entladen des Zwischenkreiskondensators (140) aufweist, wobei die Entladungseinheit (145) zwischen zwei Anschlussklemmen (155) des Zwischenkreiskondensators (140) schaltbar oder geschaltet ist, wobei eine Entladung des Zwischenkreiskondensators (140) durch eine an einem Ansteuereingang (160) der Entladungseinheit (145) angelegte Ansteuerspannung (Uge) steuerbar ist. Ferner umfasst die Vorrichtung (105) eine Ansteuereinheit (150), die zum Beaufschlagen des Ansteuereingangs (160) der Entladungseinheit (145) mit der Ansteuerspannung (Uge) ausgebildet ist, wobei die Ansteuereinheit (150) ferner ausgebildet ist, um die Ansteuerspannung (Uge) während eines Entladungsvorgangs oder zum Start eines Entladungsvorgangs des Zwischenkreiskondensators (125) zu verändern.
