For controlling an orifice of a valve (10) in an HVAC system (100) to regulate the flow (Φ) of a fluid through a thermal energy exchanger (2) of the HVAC system (100) and adjust the energy transfer rate (I) of the thermal energy exchanger (2) in response to a demand value (d), the orifice of the valve (10) is controlled in a first mode of operation where the flow (Φ) of the fluid through the thermal energy exchanger (2) is regulated within efficiency constraints on the energy transfer rate (I) with respect to an efficiency threshold value. Upon receiving an override signal (OS), the orifice of the valve (10) is controlled in a second mode of operation where the flow (Φ) of the fluid through the thermal energy exchanger (2) is not regulated with respect to the first efficiency threshold value.

Selon l'invention, pour commander un orifice d'une vanne (10) dans un système de chauffage, de ventilation et de climatisation (100) pour réguler l'écoulement (Φ) d'un fluide à travers un échangeur d'énergie thermique (2) du système de chauffage, de ventilation et de climatisation (100) et pour ajuster le taux de transfert d'énergie (I) de l'échangeur d'énergie thermique (2) en réponse à une valeur de demande (d), l'orifice de la vanne (10) est commandé dans un premier mode de fonctionnement où l'écoulement (Φ) du fluide à travers l'échangeur d'énergie thermique (2) est régulé dans des contraintes d'efficacité sur le taux de transfert d'énergie (I) par rapport à une valeur de seuil d'efficacité. Lors de la réception d'un signal de surpassement (OS), l'orifice de la vanne (10) est commandé dans un second mode de fonctionnement où l'écoulement (Φ) du fluide à travers l'échangeur d'énergie thermique (2) n'est pas régulé par rapport à la première valeur de seuil d'efficacité.
