Die Erfindung betrifft Ladesystem zum Aufladen eines Energiespeichers eines Elektrofahrzeugs (10), wobei das Ladesystem mindestens eine elektrische Energiequelle (1) und mindestens eine zum Aufladen des Energiespeichers ausgebildete Ladestation (3, 3a, 3b,...,3n) mit einer Elektronik- und Steuereinheit umfasst und die elektrische Energiequelle (1) mit der Ladestation (3, 3a, 3b,...,3n) elektrisch verbunden ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Ladesystem einen Energiezähler (2) umfasst, welcher zur Messung der von der elektrischen Energiequelle (1) zur Ladestation (3, 3a, 3b,...,3n) gelieferten elektrischen Energie ausgebildet ist, wobei der Energiezähler (2) von der Elektronik- und Steuereinheit der Ladestation (3, 3a, 3b,...,3n) entkoppelt ist und unabhängig von der Ladestation (3, 3a, 3b,...,3n) betreibbar ist.
