Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor, and

at least one memory including a computer program code, wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the apparatus to:

determine that data is to be exchanged between the apparatus and another apparatus, wherein the other apparatus does not have a wired backhaul connection;

obtain a time domain resource partitioning, wherein the time domain resource partitioning comprises a plurality of portions grouped to a first group and to a second group such that a first portion of the first group is available to a first downlink transmission and a first portion of the second group is available to a second downlink transmission;

detect if a channel is available for transmission; and

if the channel is available for transmission, transmit to the other apparatus according to the time domain resource partitioning of the first group.

2. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the first group further comprises one or more portions available to a first downlink transmission and the second group further comprises one or more portions available to a second downlink transmission.

3. An apparatus according to claim 1 or 2 wherein the first group further comprises one or more portions available to a first uplink reception and the second group further comprises one or more portions available to a second uplink reception.

4. An apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the time domain resource partitioning comprises a plurality of first groups and a plurality of second groups such that each first group is followed by a second group.

5. An apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 4, wherein detecting if the channel is available for transmission comprises performing before the first group a first type of detection.

6. An apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 5, wherein detecting if the channel is available for transmission comprises performing before the second group one of the following: the first type of detection, a second type of detection or no detection.

An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein detecting if the channel is available for transmission comprises performing the first type of detection before the first second group of the plurality of second groups and the second type of detection before the other second groups of the plurality of second groups.

8. An apparatus according to claim 3, 4 and 5 and 6 when dependent on claim 3, wherein detecting if the channel is available for transmission further comprises performing the second type of detection or no detection before the one or more portions available to the first uplink reception.

9. An apparatus according to claim 3, 4, 8 and 5 and 6 when dependent on claim 3, wherein detecting if the channel is available for transmission further comprises performing the second type of detection or no detection before the one or more portions available to the second uplink reception.

10. An apparatus according to any previous claim, wherein the obtaining of the time domain resource partitioning further comprises determining a starting time and an ending time of the time domain resource partitioning.

11. An apparatus according to claim 10, wherein the duration of the time domain resource partitioning or the duration the first group or the duration the second group is less than a maximum channel occupancy time.

12. An apparatus according to any previous claim, wherein the time domain resource partitioning further comprises a third group of one or more portions.

13. An apparatus according to any previous claim, wherein obtaining the time domain resource partitioning comprises determining, by the apparatus, the time domain resource partitioning and transmitting information regarding the time domain resource partitioning to the other apparatus.

14. An apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 12, wherein obtaining the time domain resource partitioning comprises receiving information regarding the time domain resource partitioning.

15. An apparatus according to any previous claim, wherein the apparatus further comprises a connection to at least one terminal device and/or at least one access node.

16. An apparatus according to any previous claim, wherein the apparatus is a donor node and the other apparatus is an integrated access and backhaul node.

17. An apparatus according to claim 16, wherein the apparatus has a wired backhaul connection.

18. An apparatus according to claim 16 or 17, wherein the apparatus acquires the channel during the first group.

19. An apparatus according to any of claims 16 to 18, wherein the donor node is a gNode B.

20. An apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 15, wherein the apparatus is an integrated access and backhaul node and the other apparatus is a terminal device or another integrated access and backhaul node.

21. An apparatus according to claim 20, wherein the apparatus acquires the channel during the second group.

22. An apparatus according to claims 20 and 21, when dependent on claim 7, wherein the apparatus indicates the third group to the other apparatus as a time period during which the other apparatus does not need to detect starting of downlink transmission.

23. An apparatus according to any of claims 20 to 22 wherein the apparatus does not have a wired backhaul connection.

24. An apparatus according to any of claims 20 to 23, wherein during the first portion of the first group the apparatus receives the first downlink transmission from a donor node and transmits the first uplink transmission to the donor node during the first group in accordance with the time domain resource partitioning.

25. An apparatus according to any of claims 20 to 24, wherein during the first portion of the second group the apparatus transmits the second downlink transmission and receives the second uplink during the second group in accordance with the time domain resource partitioning.

26. A method comprising:

determining, by an apparatus, that data is to be exchanged between the apparatus and another apparatus, wherein the other apparatus does not have a wired backhaul connection;

obtaining, by the apparatus, a time domain resource partitioning, wherein the time domain resource partitioning comprises a plurality of portions grouped to a first group and to a second group such that a first portion of the first group is available to a first downlink transmission and a first portion of the second group is available to a second downlink transmission;

detecting, by the apparatus, if a channel is available for transmission; and if the channel is available for transmission, and

transmitting, by the apparatus, to the other apparatus according to the time domain resource partitioning.

27. A computer program product readable by a computer and, when executed by the computer, configured to cause the computer to execute a computer process comprising:

determining, by an apparatus, that data is to be exchanged between the apparatus and another apparatus, wherein the other apparatus does not have a wired backhaul connection;

obtaining, by the apparatus, a time domain resource partitioning, wherein the time domain resource partitioning comprises a plurality of portions grouped to a first group and to a second group such that a first portion of the first group is available to a first downlink transmission and a first portion of the second group is available to a second downlink transmission;

detecting, by the apparatus, if a channel is available for transmission; and if the channel is available for transmission,

transmitting, by the apparatus, to the other apparatus according to the time domain resource partitioning.

28. A system comprising a first apparatus and a second apparatus and where the system is configured to:

determine that data is to be exchanged between the apparatus and another apparatus, wherein the other apparatus does not have a wired backhaul connection;

obtain a time domain resource partitioning, wherein the time domain resource partitioning comprises a plurality of portions grouped to a first group and to a second group such that a first portion of the first group is available to a first downlink transmission and a first portion of the second group is available to a second downlink transmission;

detect if a channel is available for transmission; and

if the channel is available for transmission, transmit to the other apparatus according to the time domain resource partitioning.
