Abstract

A particle catcher for capturing entrained particles in a fluid is disclosed. The particle catcher can include an enclosure defining a flow channel between an inlet and an outlet. Trapping means may be incorporated into the particle catcher. Where provided, the trapping means can be arranged at or near the inlet to allow fluid comprising entrained particles to enter the flow channel through the inlet and to substantially prevent the fluid comprising entrained particles from exiting the flow channel through the inlet. Filtering means may also be incorporated into the particle catcher. Where provided, the filtering means can be arranged at or near the outlet to keep at least some a part of the entrained particles from exiting the flow channel through the outlet.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de capture de particules permettant de capturer des particules entraînées dans un fluide. Le dispositif de capture de particules peut comprendre une enceinte définissant un canal d'écoulement entre un orifice d'entrée et un orifice de sortie. Un moyen de piégeage peut être incorporé dans le dispositif de capture de particules. Lorsqu'il est fourni, le moyen de piégeage peut être disposé au niveau de l'orifice d'entrée, ou à proximité de celui-ci, pour permettre à un fluide comprenant des particules entraînées d'entrer dans le canal d'écoulement par l'orifice d'entrée et d'empêcher sensiblement le fluide comprenant des particules entraînées de sortir du canal d'écoulement par l'orifice d'entrée. Un moyen de filtrage peut également être incorporé dans le dispositif de capture de particules. Lorsqu'il est fourni, le moyen de filtrage peut être disposé au niveau de l'orifice de sortie, ou à proximité de celui-ci, pour empêcher au moins une partie des particules entraînées de sortir du canal d'écoulement par l'orifice de sortie.
