Abstract

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (500) for landing and perching on a curved ferromagnetic surface is provided. The UAV includes a plurality of articulated legs (850). Each articulated leg includes: a magnet configured to magnetically attach to the curved ferromagnetic surface; and a magnetic foot for housing the magnet and configured to magnetically articulate towards and attach to the curved ferromagnetic surface using the magnet in a perpendicular orientation with respect to the curved ferromagnetic surface, in response to the UAV approaching the curved ferromagnetic surface, in order to land the UAV on the curved ferromagnetic surface and for the UAV to perch on the curved ferromagnetic surface after the landing. The magnetic foot is configured to remain magnetically attached to the curved ferromagnetic surface while the UAV is perched on the curved ferromagnetic surface.

L'invention concerne un véhicule aérien sans pilote (UAV) (500) pouvant atterrir et se percher sur une surface ferromagnétique incurvée. L'UAV comprend une pluralité de pieds articulés (850). Chaque pied articulé comprend : un aimant configuré pour se fixer magnétiquement à la surface ferromagnétique incurvée; et un patin magnétique permettant d'accueillir l'aimant et configuré pour s'articuler magnétiquement vers la surface ferromagnétique incurvée et se fixer à celle-ci en utilisant l'aimant orienté perpendiculairement par rapport à la surface ferromagnétique incurvée, en réponse à l'approche de l'UAV de la surface ferromagnétique incurvée, afin que l'UAV atterrisse sur la surface ferromagnétique incurvée et qu'il se perche sur la surface ferromagnétique incurvée après l'atterrissage. Le patin magnétique est configuré pour rester fixé magnétiquement à la surface ferromagnétique incurvée pendant que l'UAV est perché sur la surface ferromagnétique incurvée.
