An optical encoder system includes: a light emitter configured to emit a light flux; a plurality of photodetectors in an array, wherein each photodetector is operable to generate a current in response to the light flux; and a target object positioned to reflect the light flux onto the plurality of photodetectors; wherein the light emitter is configured to produce a non-circular pattern of the light flux.

Cette invention concerne un système codeur optique, comprenant : un émetteur de lumière configuré pour émettre un flux lumineux ; une pluralité de photodétecteurs dans un réseau, chaque photodétecteur pouvant fonctionner pour générer un courant en réponse au flux lumineux ; et un objet cible positionné de façon à réfléchir le flux lumineux sur la pluralité de photodétecteurs. L'émetteur de lumière est configuré pour produire un motif non circulaire du flux lumineux.
