Abstract

A method of controlling intra prediction for decoding or encoding of a video sequence, is performed by at least one processor and includes obtaining intra prediction modes including directional modes respectively corresponding to angular prediction directions, a first amount of one or more of the directional modes being excluded from the intra prediction modes based on a second amount of the intra prediction modes and a third amount of most probable modes (MPMs). The method further includes selecting, as the MPMs, two or more of the intra prediction modes from which the one or more of the directional modes are excluded, and selecting, for decoding the video sequence, one of the intra prediction modes from which the one or more of the directional modes are excluded.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de commande d’une prédiction intra pour décoder ou coder une séquence vidéo. Ledit procédé est réalisé par au moins un processeur et comprend l’obtention de modes de prédiction intra comprenant des modes directionnels correspondant respectivement à des directions de prédiction angulaires, une première quantité d’un ou de plusieurs des modes directionnels étant exclue des modes de prédiction intra sur la base d’une deuxième quantité des modes de prédiction intra et d’une troisième quantité des modes les plus probables (MPM). Le procédé comprend en outre la sélection, en tant que MPM, de deux modes ou plus des modes de prédiction intra desquels sont exclus le ou les modes directionnels parmi les modes directionnels, et la sélection, pour décoder la séquence vidéo, d’un des modes de prédiction intra desquels sont exclus le ou les modes directionnels parmi les modes directionnels.
