A metering device and method for assessing an incident detected by a safety monitoring system at a physical site at which the metering device is located, the method including: receiving at the metering device sensor layout information for safety monitoring system sensors, receiving a notification from the safety monitoring system including sensor data, determining an incident type and severity index(es) based on the sensor layout information and the sensor data, evaluating the severity index(es) against predetermined criteria, and taking an action based on the evaluation. The sensor data may include sensor identification as well as smoke intensities, temperatures, water pressure, and/or flood levels, etc., reported by the sensors. The actions taken may include disconnecting flow at the metering device, sending an instruction message to other metering device(s) to disconnect flow, and/or sending an alarm message to a device associated with a utility provider associated with the metering device.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de mesure et un procédé d'évaluation d'un incident détecté par un système de surveillance de sécurité au niveau d'un site physique où se trouve le dispositif de mesure, le procédé consistant à : recevoir, au niveau du dispositif de mesure, des informations de disposition de capteurs de capteurs de système de surveillance de sécurité, recevoir une notification provenant du système de surveillance de sécurité comprenant des données de capteurs, déterminer un type d'incident et un ou plusieurs indices de gravité sur la base des informations de disposition de capteurs et des données de capteurs, évaluer le ou les indices de gravité par rapport à des critères prédéfinis, et entreprendre une action sur la base de l'évaluation. Les données de capteurs peuvent comprendre une identification de capteurs ainsi que des intensités de fumée, des températures, une pression d'eau et/ou des niveaux d'inondation, etc., rapportés par les capteurs. Les actions entreprises peuvent consister à déconnecter le flux au niveau du dispositif de mesure, à envoyer un message d'instruction à un ou à plusieurs autres dispositifs de mesure pour déconnecter le flux, et/ou à envoyer un message d'alarme à un dispositif associé à un fournisseur de services publics associé au dispositif de mesure.
