According to one aspect of an inventive concept, a pre-polymer matrix formulation for a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) display includes a monofunctional monomer, a trifunctional oligomer, and a trifunctional monomer. According to another aspect of an inventive concept, a product includes a PDLC display formulation comprising a polymer matrix having a plurality of liquid crystal (LC) domains dispersed therein, wherein the polymer matrix comprises a polymerized product of a monofunctional monomer, a trifunctional oligomer, and a trifunctional monomer, and a pair of electrodes having the PDLC display formulation positioned therebetween. The PDLC display formulation is characterized as having a substantially constant optical transparency during application of a low power direct current (DC) electromagnetic field between the electrodes for a predefined duration of time.

Selon un aspect de l'invention, une formulation de matrice de pré-polymère pour un écran à cristaux liquides dispersés dans un polymère (PDLC) comprend un monomère monofonctionnel, un oligomère trifonctionnel et un monomère trifonctionnel. Selon un autre aspect, un produit comprend une formulation d'écran à PDLC comprenant une matrice polymère ayant une pluralité de domaines de cristaux liquides (CL) dispersés en son sein, la matrice polymère comprenant un produit polymérisé d'un monomère monofonctionnel, d'un oligomère trifonctionnel et d'un monomère trifonctionnel et une paire d'électrodes comprenant la formulation d'écran à PDLC positionnée entre celles-ci. La formulation d'écran à PDLC est caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente une transparence optique sensiblement constante pendant l'application d'un champ électromagnétique à courant continu (CC) à faible puissance entre les électrodes pendant une durée prédéfinie.
