Abstract

A driving method for driving an electrophoretic display comprising four types of particles, the first type of particles and the third type of particles are positively charged, and the second type of particles and the fourth type of particles are negatively charged, the method comprises the steps of: (i).applying a first driving voltage to the pixel of the electrophoretic display for a first period of time at a first amplitude to drive the pixel to a color state of the fourth type of particle at the viewing side; and (ii).applying a second driving voltage to the pixel of the electrophoretic display for a second period of time, opposite to that of the first driving voltage and a second amplitude smaller than that of the first amplitude, to drive the second type particle towards the non-viewing side.

L'invention concerne un procédé de pilotage servant à piloter un écran électrophorétique comprenant quatre types de particules, les particules du premier type et les particules du troisième type étant chargées positivement, et les particules du deuxième type et les particules du quatrième type étant chargées négativement, le procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes : (i). application d'une première tension d'excitation, d'une première amplitude, au pixel de l'écran électrophorétique pendant une première période de temps pour amener le pixel à un état de couleur du quatrième type de particules du côté de visualisation ; et (ii). application d'une seconde tension d'excitation, opposée à la première tension d'excitation et d'une seconde amplitude inférieure à la première amplitude, au pixel de l'écran électrophorétique pendant une seconde période de temps pour entraîner les particules du deuxième type vers le côté de non-visualisation.
