Abstract

This invention relates to a polyolefin blend composition comprising a polyolefin base polymer component and a functionalized polybutadiene component. The polyolefin blend exhibits both i) an increased melt flow and ii) an increased impact toughness and/or melt elasticity, as compared to the same composition without the functionalized polybutadiene. This invention also relates to a method of increasing the melt flow of a polyolefin and simultaneously increasing the impact toughness and/or the melt elasticity of the polyolefin by blending a polyolefin base polymer component and a functionalized polybutadiene component.

La présente invention concerne une composition de mélange de polyoléfines comprenant un composant polymère à base de polyoléfines et un composant polybutadiène fonctionnalisé. Le mélange de polyoléfines présente à la fois i) un indice de fluidité accru et ii) une ténacité à l'impact et/ou une élasticité à l'état fondu accrues, par rapport à la même composition dépourvue du polybutadiène fonctionnalisé. La présente invention concerne également un procédé visant à accroître l'indice de fluidité d'une polyoléfine et à accroître simultanément la ténacité à l'impact et/ou l'élasticité à l'état fondu de la polyoléfine, qui consiste à mélanger un composant polymère à base de polyoléfines et un composant polybutadiène fonctionnalisé.
