In one embodiment, a method includes connecting to a virtual session for co-experiencing digital media content with one or more other users in a virtual reality environment, where the virtual reality environment comprises a screen for displaying the digital media content, receiving relative-position information indicating relative positions between the first user and the one or more other users in the virtual reality environment, rendering the screen based on a first position of the first user in the virtual reality environment, wherein the screen and the first position of the first user have a predefined spatial relationship in the virtual reality environment, and rendering, based on the received relative-position information and the first position of the first user, a second avatar representing a second user in the virtual reality environment, wherein the second user is one of the one or more other users.

L'invention concerne, selon un mode de réalisation, un procédé qui consiste à se connecter à une session virtuelle afin de faire l'expérience partagée d'un contenu multimédia numérique avec un ou plusieurs autres utilisateurs dans un environnement de réalité virtuelle, l'environnement de réalité virtuelle comprenant un écran pour afficher le contenu multimédia numérique, à recevoir des informations de position relative indiquant des positions relatives entre le premier utilisateur et le ou les autres utilisateurs dans l'environnement de réalité virtuelle, à rendre l'écran sur la base d'une première position du premier utilisateur dans l'environnement de réalité virtuelle, l'écran et la première position du premier utilisateur ayant une relation spatiale prédéfinie dans l'environnement de réalité virtuelle, et à rendre sur la base des informations de position relative reçues et de la première position du premier utilisateur, un second avatar représentant un second utilisateur dans l'environnement de réalité virtuelle, le second utilisateur étant l'autre ou un parmi les autres utilisateurs.
