Abstract

A method of encoding a video bitstream implemented by a video encoder is provided. The method includes determining that a reference picture cannot be uniquely identified using picture order count (POC) least significant bits (LSBs) corresponding to other reference pictures, and inserting additional POC LSBs into a slice header of the video bitstream to uniquely identify the reference picture following the determination. The method further includes setting a flag of the video bitstream to a first value (e.g., true or 1) to indicate to a video decoder that the slice header contains the additional POC LSBs that uniquely identify the reference picture. The method also includes transmitting the video bitstream toward the video decoder.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de décodage d'un flux binaire vidéo codé mis en œuvre par un décodeur vidéo. Le procédé consiste : à déterminer qu'une image de référence ne peut pas être identifiée de manière unique à l'aide de bits de comptage d'ordre d'image (POC) au moins significatifs (LSB) correspondant à d'autres images de référence, et à insérer des LSB de POC supplémentaires dans un en-tête de tranche du train de bits vidéo pour identifier de manière unique l'image de référence après la détermination. Le procédé consiste en outre : à définir un drapeau un drapeau du train de bits vidéo à une première valeur (par ex., vrai ou 1) pour indiquer à un décodeur vidéo que l'en-tête de tranche contient les LSB de POC qui identifient uniquement l'image de référence. Le procédé consiste également : à transmettre le train de bits vidéo vers le décodeur vidéo.
