Abstract

Apparatus and a method for controlling a network from a layer 2 node receives multiple latency measurement histograms from the layer 1 nodes and aggregates corresponding bins of the latency measurement histograms to generate an aggregated histogram. Each corresponding bin of the multiple latency measurement histograms and of the aggregated histogram represents a respective range of latency measurement values. The apparatus and method determine from the aggregated histogram, a range of latency measurement values matching a predetermined percentile and transmit control information to at least one network device responsive to the determined range of latency measurement values being greater than a predetermined latency value.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fonctionnement d'un appareil de commande d'un réseau à partir d'un nœud de couche 2, comprenant la réception de multiples histogrammes de mesure de latence en provenance de nœuds de couche 1 et l'agrégation de classes correspondantes des histogrammes de mesure de latence pour générer un histogramme agrégé. Chaque classe correspondante des multiples histogrammes de mesure de latence et de l'histogramme agrégé représente une plage respective de valeurs de mesure de latence. Le procédé de fonctionnement de l'appareil comprend la détermination, à partir de l'histogramme agrégé, d'une plage de valeurs de mesure de latence correspondant à un centile prédéterminé et la transmission d'informations de commande à au moins un dispositif de réseau en réponse au fait que la plage déterminée de valeurs de mesure de latence est supérieure à une valeur de latence prédéterminée.
