Abstract

A system for variable transmittance mirrors is disclosed wherein the variable transmittance mirrors may be controlled in response to images captured from a camera. The system may comprise a first imager, a first variable transmittance mirror, and a controller. The first imager comprises a pixel array. Further, the first imager is configured to capture image data. The first variable transmittance mirror has a first level of transmittance. Finally, the controller is configured to assign a first light intensity value to one or more pixels and change the first level of transmittance to a second level of transmittance based at least in part on the detected first light intensity. Such as system has the advantage of eliminating the need for a dedicated glare sensor, therefore reducing the number of devices, the costs, obstructions in a user's filed of view, and a more aesthetically appealing appearance.

La présente invention concerne un système pour des miroirs à transmittance variable, les miroirs à transmittance variable pouvant être commandés en réponse à des images capturées à partir d'une caméra. Le système peut comprendre un premier imageur, un premier miroir à transmittance variable et un dispositif de commande. Le premier imageur comprend un réseau de pixels. En outre, le premier imageur est configuré pour capturer des données d'image. Le premier miroir à transmittance variable présente un premier niveau de transmittance. Enfin, le dispositif de commande est configuré pour attribuer une première valeur d'intensité lumineuse à un ou plusieurs pixels et pour passer le premier niveau de transmittance à un second niveau de transmittance sur la base, au moins en partie, de la première intensité lumineuse détectée. Un tel système présente l'avantage d'éliminer le besoin d'un capteur d'éblouissement dédié, ce qui permet de réduire le nombre de dispositifs, les coûts, les obstructions dans le champ de vision d'un utilisateur, et un aspect plus attractif esthétiquement.
