Abstract
(EN)
A method (300) and device (102) for performing push-to-talk and text (416) communications. The device (102) includes a display (218) and an electronic processor (205) communicatively coupled to the display (218). The electronic processor (205) is configured to generate a graphical user interface (400), generate, on the display (218), a first push-to-talk button (402) having a first dimension and located proximate to a conversation thread window (404) including a historical view portion (406) and a new-entry portion (408), and receive, on the display (218), a first user input selecting the new-entry portion (408). The electronic processor (205) is further configured to generate on the display (218), in response to receiving the first user input, a text-entry portion (410), replace, in response to receiving the first user input, the first push-to-talk button (402) with a second push-to-talk button (412) at a same or different first location, receive, via the display (218), a second user input selecting the text-entry portion (410), and alter, in response to the second user input, the second push-to-talk button (412).
