Abstract

Motion-detection systems are often used to detect presence of humans. Such motion-detection systems are often based on passive infrared (PIR) sensors. Unfortunately, such detection systems are unable to reliably distinguish between humans and other entities such as animals and moving heat sources. To address this issue, it is proposed to detect a presence of real time clock (RTC) devices in addition to detecting the heat sources to better determine whether a detected entity is a human.

La présente invention concerne des systèmes de détection de mouvement qui sont souvent utilisés pour détecter la présence d'êtres humains. De tels systèmes de détection de mouvement sont souvent basés sur des capteurs infrarouges passifs (PIR pour Passive InfraRed). Malheureusement, de tels systèmes de détection ne sont pas capables de distinguer de manière fiable des êtres humains et d'autres entités telles que des animaux et des sources de chaleur mobiles. Pour résoudre ce problème, il est proposé de détecter une présence de dispositifs d'horloge en temps réel (RTC pour Real Time Clock) en plus de détecter les sources de chaleur pour mieux déterminer si une entité détectée est un être humain.
